"The prom is such a milestone event for teens. They want to look and feel their best," says Pandora Amoratis, Style Director at OK Magazine. Here, she shares the top beauty and fashion tips that'll make prom goers feel and look as gorgeous as a celebrity walking the red carpet.

1. Trade in your glasses for contact lenses. "Don't feel like you have to hide behind your glasses. Swap them out for contact lenses so everyone can see you on one of the biggest nights of the year," she advises. Her pick: 1-Day Acuvue Moist Brand Contact Lenses or Acuvue Oasys Brand Contract Lenses. "As with all contacts, you will need a prescription as there are some risks, so visit your eye doctor to learn proper wear and care, to see if they are right for you, or even to just try them on and see how you look in them," she advises. Go to acuvue.com to find a doctor and make sure to give yourself time to get used to them before the big night.

2. Don't overdo your makeup. While prom is a hot party that calls for glam makeup, avoid mixing up too many bold colors at once. "Do a nice dramatic smoky eye with a nude lip or a bold red lip with a more neutral eye. You're going to do one or the other--not both," cautions Amoratis.

3. Crank up the shine. "As for prom hair trends, we're seeing soft beautiful curls, boho waves and slick straight hair," she says. No matter which style you choose, salon-worthy shine is a must. The Rowenta Versa Styler has ceramic, tourmaline, and titanium plates to provide smooth, shiny and frizz-free results. "It's a professional salon quality 2-in-1 master tool that does it all. It not only straightens, but also has soft rubber edges to easily curl, wave, or create incredible lift," she explains. The Rowenta Versa Styler is $130, available Ulta stores and ulta.com.

4. Ace your acne. Isn't it typical to breakout right before the big day? From the makers of Proactive, X Out is a new 3-in-1 anti-acne treatment that you can us as a cleanser, spot treatment or mask."It has 8.5% benzoyl peroxide that washes a powerful breakout-fighting formula into the pores to kill the bacteria that causes pimples. It also has smooth beads to exfoliate dead skin and a unique moisturizing complex to protect and soothe the skin," she explains. X Out is $24.95, available at xout.com.

5. Get crafty to win cash! Save money on a dress--and get the chance to win money by entering the15th annual Duck Stuck At Prom Scholarship Contest. "Students can create and wear prom attire completely made out of Duck brand tape to win cash scholarships totaling $50,000. If you don't have time to create one of these amazing ensembles, you can make an accessory like a bowtie or a corsage," she explains. You must enter by June 1 on stuckatprom.com. Vote on winners between June 15 and July 8. "The top 10 finalists are chosen by a panel of judges. Students will be judged on color, originality, and how they use the Duck tape in general," she explains. The winner will be selected around July 15.
