Which Golden Globes Fashion Trends made LM's Top 4?

January 12, 2015

Before the show starts comes show-stopping red carpet fashion -- and the 2015 Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel was no exception. Here's a LifeMinute look at the Top 4 styles in vogue this year and the celebrity trendsetters who wore them best...

Precious Metals

All that glitters is not gold... Just ask Reese Witherspoon who sparkled in a Calvin Klein Collection metallic beaded gown or Golden Globe Winner Julianne Moore in silver Givenchy Haute Couture that dissolved into a feathery tinsel-toned train. Not to be outshone... Diane Kruger in a modestly cut silver lurex gown by Emilia Wickstead, Emma Stone in a chic Lanvin jumpsuit with patterned metallic bodice, and Dakota Johnson in a shimmering Chanel number that was anything but Fifty Shades of Grey.

White Out

The red carpet whiteout was anything but pure and demure with Kate Hudson setting the bar high in Atelier Versace, complete with plunging neckline and deeply daring bodice cutouts adorned with Swarovski crystal beading. Following suit was Gone Girl Rosamund Pike who went literally bare back in white silk tulle Vera Wang, Emily Blunt in a white cross front Grecian gown by Michael Kors, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus exuding effortless elegance in a white one-shoulder Narciso Rodriguez gown.

Red Alert

While white hot fashion had its place, red hot fashion never goes out of style on the red carpet, as proved by Ladies in Red Taylor Schilling, in a voluminous red Ralph Lauren ball gown, and Allison Williams, in a strapless red Armani Prive gown with subtle tiered embellishments. Helen Mirren, in Dolce & Gabbana, accessorized her sleek and sleeved red gown with a fountain pen, while How to Get Away with Murder star Viola Davis killed it in red Donna Karan Atelier, flashing with mirrored sequins along the bodice.

Hello, Yellow!

Yellow was not at all mellow with bold and bright fashion statements being made by Naomi Watts -- radiant in chartreuse yellow Gucci, Leslie Mann -- luminous in a yellow Kaufmanfranco mermaid gown, and Jenna Dewan Tatum bringing the California sunshine in yellow Carolina Herrera with fluttering folds of fabric.
