The year started with Hollywood proclaiming “Time’s Up!” The movement which purpose is to call out and eliminate sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace, saw support at the 75THAnnual Golden Globes. Several entertainers such as Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Emma Stone, Justin Timberlake and more either wore black or pins to show support. Later in the year Bill Cosby was convicted and Harvey Weinstein was indicted of various criminal sexual-related crimes.

The Winter Olympics kicked off in February in PyeongChang, China. At the time 17-year old American, Chloe Kim became the youngest snowboarder to win Olympic gold.

On May 19th American actress, Meghan Markle and the Prince of Wales, Harry wed at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England. Other celebrity nuptials included  Justin Bieber to Hailey Baldwin, Gwyneth Patrow to Brad Falchuk, Mandy Moore to Taylor Goldsmith, Neil Young to Daryl Hannah, Nick Jonas to Priyanka Chopra and Miley Cyrus to Liam Hemsworth.

Along with the weddings came the breakups… Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux divorced after two years of marriage and both Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan and Chris Pratt and Anna Faris after 9 years or marriage. Musical artists Halsey and G-Eazy, Cardi B and Offset called it quits, while Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande, John Cena and Nikki Bella called off their engagements.

We lost several artists this year including honorary actors, journalists, war heroes, musical performers, fashion icons, a first lady, and a president.
