Ellen DeGeneres joined forces with Duracell today at Los Angeles' Van Nuys Airport in recognition of Duracell's "Power a Smile Program" and its donation of up to 1 million batteries to Toys for Tots.

"At first I thought the Power a Smile Program was some kind of whitening system, and I was like, 'Not interested.' Look at these white diamonds right here," joked DeGeneres as she flashed a bright smile.

But as soon as DeGeneres learned what the program was really all about, the energetic talk show host was on board. "I've always been a supporter of Toys for Tots for years, and Duracell(R)'s program to donate batteries for the donated toys made perfect sense to me," DeGeneres said.

The funny lady helped pack a giant C-130 cargo aircraft with Duracell(R) batteries and toys before the plane was symbolically sent to "go forth" and collect for children in need.

"We want every parent and every child, no matter their circumstance, to have that same joy on Christmas morning," says Jeff Jarrett, Marketing Director of Duracell(R).

The Marines' Toys for Tots Program has distributed gifts to more than 216 million children. However, this year there has been a significant drop in corporate donations. That's why the foundation's Deputy VP of Marketing & Development Kelley Hardison says, "The support of Ellen and Duracell(R) makes a huge impact on the kids, whether they are able to celebrate Christmas or not."

The Power a Smile Program will donate a battery for every eligible Duracell(R) Quantum or Coppertop battery pack purchased thru December 27th.
