One Stop Shops for Back to School Must-Haves

Healthy lunch options to supplies for less and endless e-Books

From the LifeMinute team

Instead of hitting a series of stores to grab all your back to school gear, this year get everything you need in one spot. Lifestyle Expert Robyn Moreno shares how to score all the must haves without wasting time and money.

Lunch Packed with Wholesome Goodness
A lot of times school lunches can be packed with artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors and additives. To guarantee your kids are getting only healthy and nutritious foods Robyn recommends heading to Whole Foods Market for great school lunch buys, Her first pick is Brown Cow Yogurt. "Yogurt is such a popular snack for kids and I love this brand. It's non-GMO project verified yogurt which means there's nothing modified just all-natural and really good for you," she says. All yogurts are a great source of protein and come in vanilla, fruit on the bottom and plain flavors if you don't want the sugar.

Also to send the kids off with a healthy juice option Robyn loves Evolution Fresh. They come in fun flavors such as Organic Splendid Carrot and Organic Avocado Greens. And for a sweet treat she turns to Greyston Bakery who partnered with Whole Foods Market and created the Whole Planet Foundation. It's a line of brownie inspired cookie thins available in three low-cal flavors. "My favorite part is that every box purchased, a percentage of the proceeds go to alleviate poverty," says Robyn.

Stock up on Supplies

When it comes to school supplies, moms go for function while kids want the fashion. Robyn found the best of both worlds at Office Depot and Office Max. "Right now they are having great deals across the board especially on backpacks," she says. All of their backpacks are 25% off right now so you can shop from brands that you recognize and love such as JanSport, Swiss Gear plus more from FIVE STAR and Mead for kids for kindergarten all the way to college.

Office Max also has all the core essentials such as pens and pencils and Sharpie Clearview Highlighters. They also have the fun stuff too such as their best-selling glitter brand and chevron and polka dot style that you can mix and match.

Easy Reading

Whether it's for fun or required scribd.com has everything you need for the whole family when it comes to reading. "Basically scribd.com is a Netflix for eBooks," says Robyn, "So what you do is pay $8.99 a month which is the price of just one paperback, but you get access to over half a million books." From the classics kids need to read or reading for fun to even things for parents from recipes to New York Times Bestsellers. To help people get familiar with scribd.com they are offering three months for free.
