Fresh from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Dana Vollmer shares how motherhood has changed her as an athlete and her best tips for other busy moms.

"Words can't describe my excitement for winning three medals," says the Olympian, "and since becoming a mom it means even more."

The new mom of one and a half year-old Arlen partnered with Pampers. "I'm so grateful as they've been a big supporter of both my dreams and my son's.," she says, "Motherhood changes your purpose and Arlen certainly changed mine."

The swimming star says competing as a mom is not without it's challenges but it's worth all the work and training. "I want Arlen to know you can have big dreams and make them come true," she says "When it came down to it I wanted to dive into the pool to give it everything I had and make Arlen proud of his mom."

And she did, winning a bronze medal in the Women's 100-meter butterfly, a silver medal in the Women's 4x100-meter freestyle relay and a gold medal in 4x100-meter medley relay.

Vollmer attributes her success to her loved ones. "I truly could not have competed so successfully without the support of my family," she says, "I share these wins with them."

She even says becoming a mom has helped her train not only harder but smarter and she applies that when it comes to getting rest as well.

"Sleep has been so important in the balance of everything," she says, "It gives me energy to train and keep up with Arlen. He's a great sleeper thanks in part to his Pampers diapers, which help him stay dry and sleep comfortably with up to twelve hours of overnight protection."

Other mom tips? "I always keep food in the diaper bag little snacks to grab for either my son or for me."

She also recommends having a support group of moms. "Just a really good support group to find fellow moms that you can meet up or talk to about struggles or excitement and having that supports group definitely helps me follow my dreams," she says.
