The bright colors and geometric shapes of Milly’s Spring 2013 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was youthful, sporty and totally glam. Mesh, tweed, metallic gauze and color blocking all mixed up with eccentric prints created an athletic vibe with a sort of techno twist—a definite departure from her preppier collections. For example, there was a scuba dress with zipper accents and a tweed hooded bomber jacket. Accessories included goggle-like glaces and ankle-strap pumps.
Who better to appreciate the sporty ready-to-wear collection than a veritable Olympic athlete? “It was excellent,” says Ryan Lochte, Olympic Swimmer who sat front row with Olympian colleague Conor Dwyer. Athletes weren’t the only onlookers. Socialite Tinsley Mortimer was there too—although she could probably medal for her own front row style.
