2025 American Music Awards nominees announced with Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan leading
Nominations for the 51st American Music Awards were revealed earlier today by CBS and Dick Clark Productions. Kendrick Lamar earned widespread recognition in multiple categories with 10 nominations, most notably for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Post Malone follows closely with eight nominations, while Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey come in next with seven each. Other notable nominees include Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, and Taylor Swift, each earning six, with Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, and The Weeknd also among nominees. The 51st annual American Music Awards ceremony will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez on May 26 at 8 p.m. ET, live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

ESPN broadcaster Mike Patrick dies at 80
The legendary sportscaster and longtime voice of ESPN’s Sunday Night Football died on Sunday in his hometown of Fairfax, Virginia. His passing was revealed in a statement by the network, which stated that he died of natural causes. Throughout his career, Patrick was welcomed into homes across the U.S. every week, spending 35 years with ESPN and serving as the voice of Sunday Night Football for 18 seasons. He made history in 1987 by serving as the play-by-play announcer for the first-ever NFL regular-season game broadcast on the network. In addition to covering the NFL, Patrick also led network broadcasts of college basketball, serving as the voice of the ACC men's basketball championship games for more than 30 years, as well as Women's Final Four games from 1996 through 2009.
