If Ryan Seacrest does what he says, then we will too. Here, fitness and wellness expert Jay Cardiello shares his expert insights on how to look your hottest this summer, including what to eat, how much sleep to get and which grooming products to buy.

Think Beyond The Gym

Think you need to log more hours pumping iron at the gym to get in shape for the beach? Think again. "The magic actually happens outside of the gym. That's right. It happens with food, sleep, and water," says Cardiello. "If you want to get lean, don't think about deprivation, think about addition. You should eat fruits and vegetables with every meal--your plate should be very colorful," he explains. As for sleep, you should aim to get between six to eight hours of quality ZZZs every night. "This is very important because any less than six hours, and you'll want to reach for those starchy carbs and sugars the next day. Any more, and you'll be putting your body in a starvation phase," says Cardiello. Lastly, make sure you drink enough water every day. "I have a simple equation. Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water a day. So, if you're a 100 pounds, that means should drink 50 ounces," he says.

Don't Sweat It

Outdoor workouts, pick-up basketball games, and just old-fashion fun goofing around outdoors shouldn't make you feel self-conscious about how you're going to smell when you start to get sweaty. "You need a great antiperspirant," says Cardiello. His pick: Degree Antiperspirant with Motion Sense Technology. "This is unlike any other antiperspirant because it has unique microcapsules that are activated by movement. So when you move, they break open, burst, and release freshness," explains Cardiello. "The more you move, the more you're protected," he adds. "It comes in seven scents, but my personal favorite is Adventure, which blends a clean citrus with notes of musk and wood for a very rugged scent."

Have A GoodHair Day Every Day

No matter how hard you workout and try to eat right, nothing really affects your mood more than a bad hair day, right? "American Crew has some outstanding products, which are very simple to use, if you know what I mean," says Cardiello. His favorite: American Crew Liquid Wax. "It's prefect for the classic medium to short haircut, like mine or my client's Ryan Seacrest. It holds like a gel, but it goes on like a liquid, and just a small amount lasts a long time. It's actually great for any hair type for control, definition, texture, medium hold and shine," he says.
