Paul Blart is back and this time he's taking on Las Vegas!

"Being in Vegas is challenging," says the film's writer, producer and star Kevin James at the world premiere of the movie in New York City, "To make a big family movie there in Vegas is a hard thing to do. But it's fun, it was a much bigger platform; everything was bigger and better."

Director Andy Fickman agrees that what drew him to the project was taking the mall cop out of the mall. "I love that they took Blart out of his element and put him in this big crazy world," says Fickman, "So the idea of sort of doing the bumbling underdog was really enticing."

Raini Rodriguez is back in the sequel as Maya Blart, "She's the daughter of Paul Blart," Rodriguez tells us, "She loves her dad so much."

And Nicholas Turturro joins the cast as Nick Manero, "My guy is very, very cocky, but then he gets a little humble, and then he winds up helping Paul," says Turturro, "It was a lot of fun."

For comedian Vic Dibitetto, playing Gino Chizetti, a character James created based on Dibitetto's recurring "Tony Gaga" YouTube video character, was the opportunity of a lifetime. "I get a call in my hotel room. Sends me the script. Gino Chizetti," Dibitetto explains, "Boom. Look at this."

D.B. Woodside, who plays Robinson in the film, says of working with James, "Kevin, you know, for my money, he was just absolutely incredible."

And singer Jessie James Decker is a big fan as well... "Kevin and I actually did some cool spots for CMT. We feel a little personal to it since we did some stuff together, so we're excited."

And while the ultimate goal is to set box office records with Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, the film is already credited with a Guinness World Record, set by Kevin James as Blart and his Mall Cop 2 security guards, for the most people performing 360-degree spins on segways at one time.

"Every day...you're just having a blast," says James, summing up his experience making this long-awaited sequel to the 2009 hit.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 opens in theaters nationwide on April 17.
