Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan) is a young girl who gets raped and murdered by her neighbor George Harvey (Stanley Tucci). Instead of going to heaven, she gets stuck in the "in between" which is a beautiful and magical place but she struggles with having to observe her parents (Rachel Weisz and Mark Walhberg) while they grieve and watch her killer who is preparing to kill again.
Will her desire for vengeance outweigh her desire to allow her family to heal?
