From the LifeMInute team

Pop sensation, Carly Rae Jepsen hit Times Square for Burt's Bees brand gd and to mingle with fans. Before the meet-and-greet the "Call Me Maybe" singer sat down with us to chat about being the first face of the bath and body product line, her hot summer tour and more.

The gd motto "being happy is what makes you beautiful" is what attracted Carly to the brand. "I was very excited to be a part of this, mostly because I love the slogan," said Carly, "I'm a sucker for it."

Other things Carly loves about the line? "It's all-natural, it's not tested on animals, even the packaging is recycled and on top of it smells really, really good," she says.

The singer who admits to belting it out in the shower in real life, got to play it up during the filming of an "over the top shower scene" for the gd TV spot. "I was in a red tutu with a red bikini top and I was just singing away."

However, when it comes to her beauty routine, don't let the girly costume fool you--Carly says she's the opposite. "I'm pretty basic. I think I'm a bit of a tomboy so I don't spend a ton of time on getting ready" Carly says.

"That is kind of why I love this product," she says of gd, "It's a no-brainer you put it on and you feel very luxurious and you smell great and you know that it's good for you."

Grab gd at Target, grocery and drugstores or you can go to gudhappens.com.

Besides partnering with beauty brands she is also collaborating with the best in the music business. Carly's latest single Tonight I'm Getting Over You features a remix with Nicki Minaj. "I love her and it was a fun combination of worlds," she says.

On top of that Carly is performing across the country in The Summer Kiss Tour featuring Hot Chelle Rae. The tour has one more month to go then Carly wraps to write her second album.

"Big plans for me...I'm just kind of writing and working with my dream producers so that is kind of the main focus right now," she says.

Carly has also fulfilled another dream; a recording on the Blu-Ray edition of Disney's 1989 film "Little Mermaid" singing "Part of Your World." It was "kind of my childhood dream come true" she says, I got to be Ariel."

So what does the 27 year-old like to do when she isn't rocking the stage? "I'm very active while I'm on the road," she says, "I love fitness. I love changing it up."

To avoid a boring workout she'll mix up her routine with a run, a game of soccer with the boys after a set, or by hitting the stairs if she plays a stadium.

"I mostly love just playing and going outdoors, canoeing, anything that is active and outdoors is my speed," she says.
