Catherine O’Hara’s cause of death has been confirmed as a pulmonary embolism, according to official records. A Los Angeles County death certificate released yesterday noted that rectal cancer was the underlying long-term condition. The beloved 71-year old actress passed away peacefully on January 30 at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica after experiencing breathing complications. O’Hara had been privately undergoing treatment for cancer since March 2025, choosing to keep her health journey out of the public eye. Dancing with the Stars announces its first-ever live fan convention, DWTS Con 2026 
Dancing with the Stars is launching its inaugural three-day fan event, DWTS Con, at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, CA, from July 31 to August 2, 2026. Promoted as “more than a con… it’s a celebration,” the weekend will feature nonstop dancing, panels, photo ops, and appearances by pro dancers, Mirrorball champions, and fan-favorite contestants. Confirmed pros include Brandon Armstrong, Lindsay Arnold, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, and more. Celebrity champions and favorites announced so far include Hannah Brown, JoJo Siwa, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Johnny Weir. DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli will also make an appearance, with more talent to be announced.
