Jane Goodall dies at 91
The famed British primatologist and conservationist passed away of natural causes in Los Angeles yesterday while on a speaking tour in the United States. She is best known for her groundbreaking, decades-long study of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania, which transformed our understanding of primates and redefined the relationship between humans and animals. Her legacy will continue through her Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) which she founded in 1977 to support the ongoing research in Gombe and scale up global conservation efforts.
